Initiative 1433 mandates an increase in the minimum wage for the State of Washington. On January 1, 2020, Washington State Minimum Wage goes to $13.50/hour for most employees.

Employers with workers who work in certain local jurisdictions may be subject to a higher minimum wage than the state rate.  On January 1, 2020, the following cites increased their minimum wage beyond $13.50/hour:

Sea-Tac Hospitality and Transportation Employees $16.34/hour
Seattle Employers who do not pay at least $2.25/hour toward the employee’s medical benefits and/or where the employee does not earn at least $2.25/hour in tips $15.75/hour
Seattle Employers with 500 employees or more $16.39/hour
