Initiative 1433 mandates an increase in the minimum wage for the State of Washington. On January 1, 2019, Washington State Minimum Wage goes to $12/hour for most employees.

Employers with workers who work in certain local jurisdictions may be subject to a higher minimum wage than the state rate.  On January 1, 2019, the following cites increased their minimum wage beyond $12/hour:

Sea-Tac $16.09/hour
Seattle Employers who does not pay towards the individual employee’s medical benefits and/or the employee does not earn tips $15.00/hour
Seattle Employers with 500 employees or more $16.00/hour
Tacoma $12.35/hour
